Dissecting Sheep Hearts

Yesterday we dissected a Sheep heart to see how the heart works, what it looks like from the inside.

Before we started dissecting I thought we would see muscles and the types that the oxygen and blood would go through.

We first cut the left-hand side and looked inside and did the same for the right-hand side, then cut it in half.

Results, I found muscles, there was a little bit of blood dripping outside of the heart.

To sum it all up it was gross but also a good learning step in learning about the heart and how it works.

I learnt a lot of things in that lesson like there is these type of string things holding the heart together and so it doesn’t explode and doesn’t hold to much blood.

Did I like the dissection?

I didn’t like it or but also liked it

The reason I did and didn’t like it was because the heart was slimy but it was kinda fun to see inside of a heart
