Do Now/ Hurricanes

So in English, it's another do now task this one is about Hurricanes.

Hurricanes form from water rising and evaporating and once high enough it will cool down and turn into rain droplets and become clouds.

Hurricanes are most likely to form in tropical areas where the water is 80℉.

Hurricanes Highest peak is in September.

Curacao tends to be warmer than usual on the island during hurricane season.  

Why do I think this relates to our Cay reading?

I think it is because Willmstade has water all around it, also where Timothy and Phillip are they might see a hurricane or one might hit where they are.

 

Ten Survival tip for the Cay/What I remember happening in the book

So in English, I am behind in some work so here is two different bits of work for my English work so it’s a two in one, stay safe.

So the first one is ten survival tips for on the Cay.

This part is where I will write down things I remember for each chapter and listen to the audio, from Chapter 1-5

Chapter one

Most of chapter one is about the uboats/submarines and Timothy not listening to his mother.

Chapter two

in this chapter, they talk about blacking out their windows and people not wanting to sail because they could die but on February 21st was when they decided they would sail again. But on that same day, most of the ships got blown up. a few weeks later they watched as a huge boat filled with fuel sail off, but it sadly got exploded. And the mother decided to take Timothy back home.

Then weeks later they boarded the SS hato, and left and said goodbye to his father.

Chapter three

They were torpedo about three in the morning on April 6th, two days after they left. They had to abandon the ship, the boat was on fire. The lifeboat were being launched. The boat was tipping fast and the lifeboat tilted and they fell into the water. Timothy yelled for his mother then got hit in the head with something.

Chapter four

Timothy was put on a raft with Phillip and work up with bad head pains and saw a strange man with him. he looked at the sun and was blinded he got the older man to tell him what's happening

Chapter five

They collect food and try to get planes attention to safe them

U-Boat German Submarine Week 2 do now

Today in English we have been learning about U boats and here is my do now for Week 2

Three facts:

A German excavalryman and engineer named Wilhelm Bauer was the first one to invent the submarine.

There are only four U-boats remaining, preserved as museum vessels.

U-boats got their name by the German word Uterseeboot meaning Submarine or undersea boat.

This video is a good source because first of its from National Geographic and also what it would be like if you were there.

to form our own political party. We were called the United Party.

Have an amazing and safe holiday 

Learning about politics in school is important for high school students

 Politics is important to learn about at a young age so when it comes to voting we all know who to vote for. Knowing more about politics is helping us being build for the future and knowing our rights. For example, you haven't learned about politics and you have turned 18 and you are in front of the voting booth and you have no idea what you best like, so what are you going to do? You would probably vote for whatever one sounds the best but you wouldn't know what they fully stand for. So this is why politics should be an important subject in high school.

Do now: Being able to be confident when public speaking is an important life skill (Week 9)

When being a big speaker in front of people you need to have the confidence to be speaking in front of those people. Having the confidence to speak in front of people is important to speak clearly and the other people being able to understand what you are saying. For example, you're presenting in front of your boss and co-workers you need to have the confidence to speak in front of them and having them understand what you are trying to present to them. Speaking should be an important life skill

Matariki should be a public Holiday

 Matariki is important to people all around New Zealand. It stands for Maori New year, with us being able to have a holiday for our New year the Maori should be able to celebrate there's without having to work as well. Celebrating a new year is important for everyone so why not give us another day to celebrate Matariki. Imagine having to work on one of the most important days to you how would you feel? you would be upset. So why not let everyone have the day off it is only fear.

Today in English we are learning about Debating.

What do the keywords for Debathing mean?

Proposition: 

 It is the first people that get to speak so they get to state whattheir point of the argument is first 

Opposition:

 The opposition is the second group of people that get to state

their side of the argument

Order of debate:

it is the whole argument restated  and then the argument is finished

and one side is chosen of who the other people think is the better

In English, for the past few weeks, we have done some research on an influential person and write why they are influential this is what I have done

Jacinda Arden, who is she? Why should she be the most influential in New Zealand? Let me tell you. At the age of fourteen, she had written a CV and was looking for a job that shows that she was a hard worker from a young age. She was looking for jobs at local shops for after school jobs. Later on, in 2007 she was elected president of the International Union Of Socialist, this position took her to destinations such as Algeria, China, India, Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon. In 2011 she ran for the seat representing Auckland Central, this was held by at the time New Zealand’s brightest young stars, Nikki Kaye of the New Zealand National Party.

At the age of 18, she was introduced to politics by her Aunty Marie. Her aunty Marie was a close relative to her and when Jacinda was elected she cried. She took part in her first election around 2001, she also worked as a researcher in the office of Prime Minister Helen Clark. Before working in the office she graduated from the University of Waikato. She got a degree in politics and public relations.     

Being one of the youngest elected prime ministers would be a great achievement. She was 37 when she was elected, beating the previous youngest prime minister which was 38. 150 years later, the record was broken. Thinking about it, the work that she would have to put in. Two years later in 2019 working as prime minister, she had to step up, like a true leader and speak out for the Muslim community, to stand by them.

With all this information she has proven to be a very influential person.

 Should school uniforms not be mandatory?

I think that school uniforms shouldn't be mandatory.

Uniforms do represent the school but don't you think that the students are the main representatives for the school no matter what they wear they will be a part of the school.

The Vet 

It was March 5th it was like any other day for Benjamin but he was slowly
getting longer and longer so he decided he wanted the company. He wanted
something that could go any and everywhere he went. What shell I get A cat
No, he said how about A Turtle to hard to look after How about a dog Yes I
shell get a dog. I’ve always wanted a dog since I was a little boy. Take me to
the dogs, please Benjamin asked one of the workers. The worker took him to
the dog’s Benjamin walked down the row of dogs girls, boys there are so many
to choose from. But right at the very end, there was a dog with a tag saying,
Max. This one I want this one, please the worker came up to a kennel and said
ahh yes this one has been here for a few years now. I’m glad he’s getting a
new home.

The journey was full of enjoyment and dog breath. 35 Noname place was
approaching very fast.  They were home he had only just realised that he
had no pet food or anything else you needed to look after a pet another road
trip Benjamin said very eagerly. He took Max with him so he could pick what
he wanted.

Time has pasted they have got everything they needed. As they headed
inside Benjamin wanted to treat himself with some chocolate as he ate his
chocolate bar he put it on the living room table so that he could go get the
mail. In a split second, Max was eating the chocolate bar Benjamin walked
through the door to see his dog eating food that could kill him, benjamin
changed his walk to a run then into a sprint as he cared his dog into the car
to take him to get him to the vet. As they arrived as quickly as they could.
Breathlessly benjamin said my dog ate chocolate the veterinary quickly
rushed him in a small room to be checked on.  

15 minutes past by the lady came out with some sort of smile on her face.
He’s fine she said happily. What but he said confused He’s fine he must
be one out of a million dogs that can eat chocolate but don’t feed him it
but he will not die though. A few years passed by they both got older and
Benjamin started to notice that Max was getting lonely. Benjamin went off
to find another pet dog Max did not know what was happing at the time
Benjamin did not take Max he wanted it to be all a   surprise. Benjamin
opened the door so slowly that max was there before the door was halfway
open a whited haired dog burst through the door.

Few years past Gigi (the newer dog) was getting sick she was not gonna
make it. A few days in the vet but that one sad rainy day she had passed but
laying on the table were she had passed was the same bread of dog as a
puppy what has happened. Both of benjamins dogs had powers.

And that is the tale of the superpowers of two

This is the picture I used 

How did I get here I asked myself.  Just before I was in bed dreaming of
you know what this place is kinda cool. Should I go explore? I walk off into the
bush 10 minutes later I stumble into what looks like an abandon school bus.
Wonder how it got here?

They could have been on a school trip or the driver lost control or maybe it was
a home of some kind. It seemed to have empty cans such as beans and other
types of food. It was getting pretty late the sun was going behind the mammoth
-like trees and the moon rising from behind me. As I slowly creep into the dull
school bus I find a place to rest of the night. Morning has finally come I decided
to look around for any full cans because going without food for this long I am
starting to get a fear bit hungry. As I did not find any food I decided to leave the
bus and explore for some sort of food like a tree or a plant that was edible.
Luckily I took those girl scout lesson those so many years ago. At last, I have
found a few fruit tree but this will not last very long as I have almost eaten half
of that food supply this will only last me one more meal.
I will rest here for the night. The has dawned and it seems that there are fewer
trees as I move forward I see houses I find a town I recognise this town. It was
my house. “Lilly, Lilly” some was calling my name I woke up it was all a dream.

The Missing car

The missing car

Today we have been working on writing in four sentences 

With a high peck of a mountain, poking out over the water. And as I move my eyes across the sea all I see is a clear beautiful ocean. As my eyes sweep down I see some boats come closer to me. As I take the whole view into perspective I dream how amazing it would be to live here. 


As I slowly turn around I see my self, Blond hair with a beautiful flowery dress. As I look closely I can see the very shiny ocean in my light blue eyes. I have been watching out the window for about 20 minutes and I like to watch the boats come in from there trips from different places around the world. I think it is also very fun to watch the different sizes of the boat come in and the shipments they come back with time to watch some more boats for about 10 more minutes, then I have to got to get to my new job interview.  


The time went fast within 3 minutes to get dressed and I only had 5 minutes to get the job interview. It was about time to leave I found the car keys but I just remembered to grab my coffee. I started to walk out the door the once again I forgot my house keys so I ran inside to get them. I walked outside with what  I thought was a good day but that all changed when I got to the last place I parked it is turns out it was stolen last night. 


I was freaking out then I pulled my cellphone but before I could do that my car the same licence plate and everything drove past I rang the police and started running after the car.
It took about 2 minutes of the police to come and the car stopped at the lights. Turns out my older sister was getting me my dream car and I was crying in both ways. I got to drive the car and my sister started to cry too. 

Why The one child policy is not very great

Hello, Today I will be talking about the one-child policy that has been recently lifted in China. 
So first of we have been doing persuasive writing and we got to choose a topic out of five different things such as  the one that I am doing the china's former one-child policy should be adopted in all countries, Organ donation should be mandatory, Sport is better than music, NZ spends too much money on promoting Rugby and Children would learn better if lunches were provided.
Witch, I choose The former child policy one an I am against it coming to all other countries.

We have been working on some statements on our Idea on what should happen on our choice of writing. My three statements in order are

• Planning the size of one's family is believed to be a basic human right 
• If you can have twins or triplets why can't you have two or three kids because it's the same thing as having twins or triplets a 
•  that the only child has a lot of responsibly and that is a lot of stress

Today In Art hurumanu I have Edited my work and a buddy has to.

With this writing, it is a script about what I posted last time on my blog.

In period four the bell was about to ring for it to be lunchtime at 12.24. The sky was bright and it seemed to be a good day to be outside. Ring, ring, ring. The bell rang powerfully it seemed to be even louder than ever before, maybe it was because I sat closest to the door so that I could see Meadow, my best friend. Amber sat at a table across from me because we were talking about what I got for Meadow and the teacher moved us. As I wanted to escape from the sizzling room as rapidly as I could then finally Miss called my name to be let free. 

I hoped  Meadow will meet me towards the soccer posts were we always have a picnics with flowers and everything. The flowers are from when I walk to the soccer posts. Meadow always brings the blanket. When we do this the soccer players try and stay away. Meadow, I let slip out as I darted towards her trying not to slip on the wet school grass.  Those sunny days will not be the same again. 

The day was bright and sunny I Hoped Meadow will like the airpods I got her this time. The bell rang less hard than before. Meadow did not have time to open. It felt like it was only 5 minutes for lunch, is the teacher trying to split us? I was walking home with Meadow by my side we split at the fork in the road. Meadow opens her gift casually but fast. IT WAS AIRPODS!!!!! I wish it did not cost her too much.  

The next day Sylvie was in a panic she looked a wreck. I had a quick talk to her before we had to get into the class. She had nothing left I had the Airpods in my pocket so I gave them back it was hard to get her to take them back but I got to get them back. And from then on the back. And that day on Meadow gave back. Sylvie learned that is not the best way to show friendship by giving is not all ways the answer.
