Forensics

Kia ora, bonjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in Forensics, we have been working on making our own little crime scene, it was so much fun I might even do it at home, here is a slide show more about our little crime scene.  It took up most of this term. We had to share and that would have to be my less favourite part because I don't like public speaking very much other than that I had fun.

Wga- Why people get paid more

Kia ora, bonjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in wga, we had to read a story about why people get paid more

 1. Explain in a paragraph why others get higher pay.

Some people get higher pay because they are higher up in the job like they got a promotion or they have been in the job for a while. Another reason why they might have higher pay is that they do a job that pays more for example a surgeon, reason why is because they could put more effort into the job because they want the job to be done perfectly and not done sloppy or really fast.

2. Say what Adam Smith realized about making money.
He realised that there are two things you have to keep in mind, what you are really good at and what you think other people want, you also have to remember that there are also many jobs out there that don't pay much but are also still really important.

3. At this point in your life, What kind of job do you think you would like to have? Why?
At this point in my life, I would like to be a doctor, I'm not quite sure what type yet but ever since I was younger I have wanted to be a doctor, I don't really have a big reason but I just like the fact of helping people

Debate

Kia ora, bonjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in Debating, we have been working on how to debate and debate with different groups. My thoughts on this are good because we are learning to use our voices for good. It was fun because I got to state an option, and not be judged for it. I found it challenging when I had to come up with ideas about a statement that I didn’t believe in.

Forensics

Kia ora, bonjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in Science Forensics, and we are doing Foot Print Analysis.

We had three shoes to decide what one is which. The shoes had heaps of similarities because they were the same brand of shoe but you could still tell which one is which because some of them were worn on the bottom. Most of them had a normal arch, there are three different types of an arch, low arch, Normal arch, and high arch. There are heaps of different bottoms of each shoe.

Forensic Science

Kia ora, bonjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in the new hurumanu classes, we are writing about the subject here is what we are learning about.

Nici’s Paragraph Who are forensic scientists? What does a forensic scientist do?

Forensic science is something that helped people find out what happened at a murder site or a robbery (Any crime basically.) Some reasons why we need it is because if we didn't have it we would never know what happened, or who killed someone or how something happened. Another reason why we need it is that without it you wouldn't have an idea of how to solve murders. Forensics Scientists are someone that solves murders or any crime. They are like a detective but does other things than ask questions about the murder.

Nevaeh’s Paragraph: What types of evidence do they collect from crime scenes?

The evidence they collect is very important to the whole crime scene. They could collect almost anything from a crime scene, I learnt this in class, the evidence that can be collected are weapons, fibres, cells, CCTV, DNA ect. They can analyse substances such as glass, paint, fire debris and fibres which can provide crucial evidence in a case. This kind of non-biological evidence can provide vital links between the victim, suspect and crime scene.

Hayley Paragraph: What is genetic profiling?

Information about specific genes, including variations and gene expression, in an individual or in a certain type of tissue. A genetic profile may be used to help diagnose a disease or learn how the disease may progress or respond to treatment with drugs or radiation.

Candesse Paragraph: What are some of the jobs?

Visit crime scenes to find evidence.

take notes and map the crime scene

To analyse physical evidence such as fibres, glass, debris, firearms, bullets and marks made by tools or weapons.

Identify drugs found on people, in body fluids or at crime scenes.

English

Kia ora, bonjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in English, we did a Meaning Match and we had to match the words to their right meaning I didn't get them all right, we are making them into sentences.

Anarchy: He had found their idea of liberty to be anarchy, their native policy to be slavery, and their republic to be a sham.

Diverse: The opinions of the two factions are diverse

Jeopardy: The criminal trial system would be placed in jeopardy.

Stratum: It was an enormous task that affected every stratum of society

Substantive: Having a firm basis in reality and so important, meaningful, or considerable.

Science/Maths report

Kia ora, bonjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in Maths and Science, we have been learning about Ohm’s law and area.

Aim: To put together some of the ideas we had learnt

Method: The house plan I picked was house "A" and I had 5 bulbs. Below is a photo of my work.

Result: the results of my ohm's law working out is this:

Discussion: The term voltage means: a force difference expressed in volts, the volts on my house plan were 200 on my first path and 100 on my second two paths. The term Current means how quickly the electrons move around a circuit, the current on my house is 16.4 on the battery path, path one is 8a and the bottom two paths are 4a. The Term resistance means it pushes back against the current. I did the Calculations by using the ammeter and voltmeter. My calculation's tell me about my house plan and my circuit because they show me that the light bulbs in houses are the same as a circuit online or someone who drew it. The calculation's make sense to me.

Conclusion: I enjoyed this activity at the start it was a little bit confusing to me but then I got the hang of it. If I were to do it again it would do something different like I would do a different house plan or I would do a different amount of light bulbs.

Health- Five Second Rule

Kia ora, bonjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in health, we finished our game, our game is the five-second rule game. The Topic we were doing was about vaping and, the game was about questions about vaping and what you should, do to a vape, and what happens if you actually vape. Firstly we had to decide on which of the Big six questions were going to do to help with our game. Our question was, When and Why did Vaping become an issue in New Zealand? The purpose of our game was to teach people about vaping. From there we decided on our game and came up with questions for the game. We choose to create this game because we thought it would be fun to play with friends and family. We learnt that these strategies are helpful to use if, you are working in a group. It was challenging when we had to find/ reword the rules because some of the rules didn’t make sense. I coped with the challenge by asking my teammates for help. Next time I will talk more with my group. Im was really proud of how the board turned out.

Science

Kia ora, b onjour, Hola, Guten Tag, Konnichiwa, Nǐn hǎo, Salve and Zdravstvuyte

So in Science, we are learning about Volts and Current and Resists

Voltage Rule: In series, the voltage is split between components.

In Parallel the voltage is the same everywhere.

Current rule:
In series, the current is the same everywhere
In parallel current is split between pathways

The definition of all three.
Current: How quickly the electron more (Flow)
Voltage: How much energy the electrons are carrying
Resistance: Used to slow/resist the flow of electrons (current)

"People are sometimes horrible to people they like"

    Hello, Kia Ora

   and Hola

Today I will be sharing some information I have learnt about

Bulling

So we have been working on this story reading little bits every day and answering questions each time

The story we have been reading is called Happy Healthy Minds

This is what we are reading today

People are sometimes horrible to people they like

It may sound strange, but sometimes bullies are mean to people that they like. They’re so afraid they won’t be liked back, they start to behave badly, almost as a way of showing how little they care, because caring is painful for them (it reminds them they might not be wanted).

It is uncomfortable to want something that you can’t have, so sometimes we reinvent how much we ever wanted the missing element in the first place. When it becomes clear that something — it could be a toy, a friend, a holiday — can never be ours, we re-evaluate how much it means to us. It takes strength to hold on to the idea that something might be precious and yet out of our reach.

Imagine being 9 and entering a class at the start of the year when you notice an extraordinary new pupil: taller than you, with nice eyes, cool clothes and an intelligent smile. They’re one of the most charming people you have ever encountered. They are also out of your league. You might long to become their friend. You might want to share jokes and chit chat, but this kind of attempt could also hurt. So, to reduce the pain, you might decide you do not care. To show you don’t care — to yourself and to the person you like — you become a bit nasty. You try to spoil what you cannot have. You become mean where you would, at one level, have wanted to be sweet. You call them a stuck-up idiot and worse, you organise a group to torment them; you steal their scarf. It sounds odd, but it can happen to us all.

So the next time that you find someone being mysteriously mean to you, without any arrogance, keep one thought in mind: maybe they want to be your friend and they’re just scared you won’t want to be friends with them.

These are the questions and answers

  1. Why do bullies behave badly?

Because sometimes they like them

  1. What are bullies hiding when they pretend they don’t care?

Because if they do show they are upset or something they might get bullied

  1. What is important to keep in mind the next time you meet a bully?

What has made them the bully

I hope you learnt something new

What could I do better next time for your Enjoyment I would like to know?

Bye has a nice day, Stay safe.
