SLJ Week Three Activity 1 and 2

Summer Learning Journey

SLJ Week Three Activity 1 and  2

DAY 2: CRACKING THE CODE

Activity 1: Through Careful Observation

For my first Activity, I get to pick out of two photos
These ones :
 and

And I have to do research on one of them I have chosen to do the black and white one

Info
1. The artiest that created some of the most memorable  of the 20th centenary
2.There is just one work by Maurits Cornelis Escher in all of Britain’s galleries and museums, and it was not until his 70th birthday that the first full retrospective exhibition took place in his native Netherlands.
3. Escher was admired mainly by mathematicians and scientists, and found global fame only when he came to be considered a pioneer of psychedelic art by the hippy counterculture of the 1960s.
4. His prints adorn albums by Mott the Hoople and the Scaffold, and he was courted unsuccessfully by Mick Jagger for an album cover and by Stanley Kubrick for help transforming what became 2001: A Space Odyssey into a “fourth-dimensional film”.
5. But Escher did not belong to any movement.

  1. Hey Nevaeh,

It's awesome to see that you've had a go at another activity. Unfortunately the images you've shared can't be seen. Can you please edit your post so that we can see the images?

Also, if you go back to the Summer Learning Journey website and read the instructions for this activity you'll see that we're asking you to analyse one of the two paintings, not share facts about the artist. Have another go and I'll check back in soon. :)

    Thanks, Nevaeh.

    Bye for now,

    Mikey

  2. Hi Nevaeh,

Thanks for your post! it must have been very scary picking up that mouse when dad wasn't there. How old is your cat? What kind of cat is he?

Next time you could include a picture of your cat so we can see what you are writing about. :)

    Keep up the good work,

    Gabe
